The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and making relevant comparisons.

The table illustrates the data regarding the percentage of money spent on various basic needs in five nations in 2002. Overall, according to the table, the proportions of consumers’ expenditure on food/beverages and cigarettes were the highest. In contrast, the counterparts on leisure and education were the lowest among the five countries.

As transparent from the table, Turkish consumers paid for food/drinks/tobacco the most at 32.14% of their total spending, almost twice as much as the figures for Italian and Swedish (18.80%) and 15.77%, respectively). Furthermore, in terms of outfit materials, Ireland, Spain and Turkey nearly shared similar percentages at about 6.50%, while Italy had the highest with approximately 9.00%.

Finally, with regards to the least paid item, while Turkish consumers purchased the most for this with 4.35% compared to others, the figure of Spain only equalled one-fourth of the former.

🎓 The table illustrates the expenditure on different items in five European countries (Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey) in 2002. Overall, it can be seen that a large proportion of spending was made on Food/Drink/Tobacco, whilst the least amount of money was spent on Leisure/Education.

Additionally, Turkey spent more on Food/Drink/Tobacco and Leisure/Education than any of the countries, whereas Sweden spent less on all the items in 2002.

To begin with, the greatest percentage of expenditure was made by Turkey on Food/Drink/Tobacco at almost a third. Turkey also spent more on Leisure/Education at 4.35%.

The second highest spending on Food/Drink/Tobacco was made by Ireland at 28.81%, and it also spent an appreciable amount on Clothing/Footwear. Spain also expended a significant amount on Food/Drink/Tobacco at 18.80% but ended up spending the least on Leisure/Education.

However, Italy and Sweden had almost similar expenditures on Food/Drink/Tobacco, but on Clothing/Footwear, Italy spent the most among the five countries at 9.00%, while both countries spent almost the same amount on Leisure/Education. 📊💶🌍
