Ever since the 21st took place, tourist industries have been booming, and many countries’ GDP depends on the number of visitors.
Here I want to explain to you the disadvantages of too many tourists on one site. The very first dark point is the sudden increase in a rush at the site, and government securities and facilities are not enough to handle.
Other problems occurred, including non-availabilities of accommodation and transport service delays. I experienced the same; I went to Thailand to celebrate the 2021 New Year, and I faced all these problems.
To adapt to this new environment, I compromised by booking a small room at a high cost. Moreover, it impacts our flight delay; I need to stay 2 days extra over there at that time. On top of it, it impacts my job.

Question 1:- Did you experience any culture shock when adapting to the new environment? How did you manage it?
Yes, a few years ago, I was in Dubai. I was really shocked when I learned that after Ramadan (30 days of fasting), on the day of Eid, they slaughter goats in the name of the god’s feast. It was hard to manage when I first saw this.
Question 2:- Were there any specific challenges that you faced when adapting to the new environment? How did you overcome them?
Well, I lived in different countries, and adopting a new environment took time. Sometimes, the challenge is big, or sometimes, it’s quite easy to adopt. For example, in India, we drive vehicles on the left, but in UAE, it’s right-hand drive. The same goes for when I visited China. They love to eat bugs or reptiles, but for me, accepting this was a really hard challenge. Sometimes, you need to compromise or make sacrifices.
Question 3:- What skills did you develop as a result of adapting to the new environment? How have they helped you in other areas of your life?
In my opinion, we should learn the local language and get to know about their culture. Moreover, anyone who wants to adapt to any new environment should study closely and check on the internet what kind of environment it is.
Question 4:-Do you think it’s important to adapt to new environments? Why or why not?
In the present scenario, the whole world has become a global village. Adopting a new culture is not harmful, but we must remember our moral and ethical values.
