Without Capital Punishment Our Lives Are Less Secure and Crimes of Violence Increase

Discuss When, if Ever, Capital Punishment Can Be Viewed as A Valid Punishment for A Crime (1)

Without capital punishment (the death penalty) our lives are less secure and crimes of violence increase. Capital punishment is essential to control violence in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It has been argued that in the absence of a death sentence, people feel insecure, and the brutality rate escalates. Therefore, judicial execution is indispensable to curb ferocity in the community. I completely agree with the statement because fear of the death penalty will not let the criminals do unlawful activities, and people will have trust in their government.

First off, when offenders commit any illegal activity and consequently, they do not get punished for their misdeed; then, the masses feel insecure. For their safety, a death warrant is mandatory for the guilty person by considering the severity of the case. It will create fear in their mind. They will hesitate to commit any offence. To exemplify it, when the convicts of the Delhi Nirbhaya case were hanged, and their death execution shattered the minds of culprits, it has drastically reduced the number of rapes in the metropolitan areas.

Moreover, the death penalty is essential because people have no faith in the government of their country. Occasionally, individuals do not get justice, and they have to face humiliation and disregard in their community. Many times, it is seen that they also indulge in crime, and they do the same as others do. In such a situation, it becomes a herculean task for any government to keep the situation under control. Even such kinds of criminals are a great threat to any nation. Because they hate the law of their country and get justice in their own way, that’s why hanging can pacify the victims when they see the real culprits are punished with judicial murder. Only then people will have faith in the working of the regime, and the society would be a better place to live in. People will be more safe and secure.

To conclude, in consideration of the above analysis, it is ostensible that capital punishment is compulsory for the lawbreakers who commit the crime by crushing the soul of victims. It will deter offenders from doing abominable activities and help them in rebuilding their trust in the rulers of their country.
