Sample Answer: Write a Letter to Your Landlord

Dear Mr. Sharma,

I hope you and your family are doing well. I am Rahul Verma, your tenant living in Flat 302 of Ashoka Apartments in Dwarka, Delhi. I am writing this letter to bring an urgent issue to your notice regarding the furniture provided in the flat.

When I moved in last month, the furniture looked perfectly fine. However, over the last few days, I noticed that the double bed in the master bedroom has a serious termite problem. A lot of wooden dust keeps falling on the floor everyday, and the main frame has become quite weak. Honestly, it creaks a lot and feels like it might break anytime. Apart from this, one of the living room sofa legs is completely wobbly, making it quite unsafe to sit on.

Since the bed is getting damaged rapidly, I request you to kindly send a carpenter to inspect it as soon as possible. If the wood is completely eaten up, it would be great if you could replace it with another bed. For the sofa, I think a small repair work would be enough. If you are busy, I can call a local carpenter from the nearby market and just deduct the repair charges from next month’s rent.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Yours sincerely,

Rahul Verma
