You Have a Full-Time Job and Are Also Taking an Evening Course

You have a full-time job and are also taking an evening course several hours a week. You feel that you cannot continue taking the course. Write a letter to the course tutor. In your letter, you should:-

  • Describe the situation.
  • Explain why you cannot continue the course.
  • Say what you intend to do.

Dear Sir,

My name is Ademola Simon Badeji; I am one of the students in your class at Excel Tutors Limited. I am taking a course on project management, and I have enjoyed the course so far. I am writing this letter to inform you that I will not be able to continue the course because it is taking its toll on my job.

I am an engineer, and I resume work by 7 am to close for the day by 5 pm. As you are aware that the course is slated to start at 6 pm and end by 8 pm Monday through Friday, this has not been easy for me since I have to attend classes every day after work. As a result of attending classes after work, I get home very late in the evening due to traffic congestion. Once I am home, I still have some office assignments to attend to. Still, due to extreme tiredness, I will only be able to do little before going to bed, which has affected my productivity at work, leading to my supervisor noticing a decline in my efficiency. As a result of this, I would like to put a hold on this course, for now to focus on my job because it is a full-time job.

However, I will like to suggest that I should be considered to take my courses on weekends since I do not work weekends. In addition, if there is a possibility to attend the class virtually, I would like to explore that option too. I really want to progress with taking the course only if it will not affect my job.

I will be glad if my suggestion is given due consideration, and I am also open to any other input from you on how best I can continue the course without it affecting my job. I am looking forward to getting positive feedback from you soon.

Yours Faithfully,

Ademola Simon Badeji

Sample 2 You Have a Full-Time Job and Are Also Taking an Evening Course

Dear Mr Rasel,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I will not be able to continue my certificate course on “Credit Documentation,” which started a month ago. However, there is a rule in our office that no employee would remain in the same place for more than 03 years; it is obligatory that they must be transferred to anywhere else.

In this connection, my transfer order was issued yesterday, and today I got it which will come into effect after ten days. This is the reason I cannot continue the course, at least physically.

However, I still want to continue the course if your online class is still operating. As I have already accomplished one month of the three-month course, I would do the rest online. If it is not active, then I would have no other ways left except the cancellation of my admission, where I would supposed to be refunded half of the tuition fees. Hence, I would request you transfer the amount to my bank account available in my student life, if applicable.

I am eagerly waiting for your reply.

Sincerely Yours,
