Your City Council Is Planning to Demolish One of The Historic Buildings in Your Town Because They Do Not Have the Funds to Renovate It. as A Citizen, You Do Not Want It to Happen. Write a Letter to The City Council. in Your Letter,
- Say What the Importance of This Historic Building Is.
- Mention Why It Should Be Renovated Rather than Pulled Down.
- Suggest a Plan to Raise Funds and Maintain the Building Going Forward.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to draw your attention to an issue that is too significant to ignore in protecting the city’s historical structure.
Last week, I was scrolling through the internet and found that the city council had decided to demolish the Royal Palace, built almost two centuries ago. This construction has great historical value and is also one of the city’s renowned tourist attractions. This building has ample memories for its vernaculars. If the city council destroys this property, it will hurt local people’s emotions. The architecture of this building is overwhelming, and everything used on these premises was imported and expensive during construction, rather than addressing the need for renovation, which would be suitable for the city and tourists alike.
I can understand the board does not have enough funds to renovate this structure. But deconstructing is not the only, or even the best, decision. Being a citizen, I have some duties towards my country and city. As a result, I have some ideas for generating funds for reconstruction. We can convince the local businessman to give some share of their profits, and also use the profits we are getting from visitors to fund maintenance. I am sure this will work, and we can raise enough money to renovate this historical souvenir.
I hope you will consider saving this monument in our city.
Your faithfully,
