A memorable instance of using a map occurred a few years ago when I was traveling with my family to the hill station of Shimla in northern India 🌄. It was during the summer vacation, and we were eager to explore the beautiful scenery and attractions Shimla had to offer 🌲🏞️.
We had planned to visit a famous viewpoint known as “The Ridge.” After leaving our hotel, we started driving through the winding roads of Shimla 🚗. However, at one point, we reached a confusing fork in the road with no signboards to guide us. We took what seemed to be the right path but soon realized we were lost as the road led us deeper into unfamiliar terrain with fewer houses and people around 🏘️.
Initially, I felt a bit anxious and frustrated 😟. Being in an unfamiliar place without clear directions made me worry about wasting our precious vacation time ⌛. My family looked to me for guidance, which added to the pressure. However, I quickly remembered we had a physical map of Shimla that we picked up from the hotel lobby 🗺️.
I took out the map and began to carefully study it. Using the landmarks and main roads marked on the map, I managed to identify our current location and plotted a course back to the main road 🔍. The process of reading the map and navigating through the narrow streets was a bit challenging but also quite rewarding. Once we were back on the right path, I felt a great sense of relief and accomplishment 😊.
This experience taught me the importance of staying calm and prepared when traveling 🧘♂️. It also highlighted the value of having a reliable map, especially in areas where digital navigation tools might not work well 📵. In the end, we reached “The Ridge” and enjoyed the panoramic views of Shimla 🌅. This little adventure added an unexpected twist to our trip, making it even more memorable.

Question 1:- How Easy Is It to Travel Around Your Country?
Well, day to day, more flyovers and roads are mapping in my country; a decade ago since the new govt. When the Party comes into power, it increases the infrastructure budget.
Question 2: Which method of travel do you consider safe? Why?
In my opinion, the train/rail system is the best option for travel. If we look at the national level, there is only a 3% chance of accidents, and in the world, this figure is 1.5%.
Question 3:- Has Travel Become Safer in Recent Years than it was in The Past?
Yes, since the new traffic rules were implemented and the road mapping structure has become more accurate, accident cases have been reduced since that day.
GPS navigation has many advantages. It saves travelling time and also updates us about traffic. On top of that, we can search for anything near places that meet our requirements. On the contrary, it seems that terrorists misuse this technology.
Question 5:- Should the Government in A Country Focus More on Rail Transport or Road Transport? Why?
I believe the government should focus more on road services in India because we already have the largest rail network.
