Therefore, I decided to incorporate it into my teaching materials and exam preparation resources.

Initially, I found ChatGPT to be quite useful in providing instant feedback to students writing samples and generating sample responses to common IELTS topics. It seemed to enhance students’ engagement and confidence, especially those who struggled with a lack of vocabulary range and writing coherence.

However, over time, I noticed some limitations and drawbacks that led me to stop using ChatGPT. One major concern was its inability to provide contextually accurate and shows responses consistently. While it could generate grammatically correct sentences, the quality and relevance of the content were often lacking, leading to misleading or irrelevant feedback for students.

Furthermore, I realized that relying too heavily on ChatGPT could potentially hinder students’ critical thinking and communication skills development. By depending on automated responses, students might miss out on the opportunity to engage in authentic, meaningful interactions and fail to develop their own voice and style in writing and speaking.

Ultimately, I made the decision to stop using ChatGPT in my teaching practice and instead focus on more traditional methods of feedback and instruction that prioritize human interaction and personalized guidance. Although it required some adjustment initially, I feel confident that this decision aligns better with my pedagogical principles and ultimately benefits my students’ learning outcomes.
