Friendly Robots Are Now Being Developed to Help People at Work and At Home

Friendly robots are now being developed to help people at work and at home. Do you think the positive effects of this development outweigh the negative? Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

The paradigm shift is responsible for the emergence of technological devices that can assist people either at their workplace or at home in doing domestic chores. In my perspective, it has more disadvantages than advantages that I am going to express in the upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, machines have assisted a lot of masses in making them relaxed by reducing their burden. At the office, they are used to rescue employees who abruptly catch in problems such as the unexpected spread of fire as well as during earthquakes. In this way, these can save human beings and precious items. Moreover, automation has helped a lot to supervise the productivity of each employee as well as cleaning the offices, saving time for employees in doing work quickly with accuracy. At home, it also does purposeful activities. Robots help in doing domestic chores in a short span and are also helping individuals to entertain themselves. A recent example is the ‘Astro’ machine, which was launched by Amazon. It can make video calls and record them automatically and can alert about any danger such as any pet or stairs it confronts. Besides, recognizing the speaker are some of its features.

On the other hand, although robots help a lot in making the life of all and sundry comfortable, individuals are becoming indolent and inefficient in doing their work. To exemplify it, personnel at work become less creative and are fully dependent on them. They are losing their skills, and they behave like a machine, which has no sympathetic feelings. While at home, folk get their whole work done from robots. Thus they become couch potatoes by leading a sedentary lifestyle. Gradually, they become victims of many diseases, which can be the cause of their downfall. Thus if machines are making their life convenient, but as a matter of fact, these are making them unproductive. With the passing of time, robots will take over the position of employees, and at home, persons will be unsocial, and they will have a short expectancy rate.

To conclude, thus, it is apparent that machines are helpful, but excessive use or full dependence on them can create troubles for them. At the moment, the masses are cheerful; however, they will repent over it, particularly when they are not needed at the workplace and will be like them, who just programme any machines and wait for it to stop. Thus people will be leading a monotonous life.
