Sample 1:- Many Think that Religion Should Be Taught in Schools

A large number of the population is of the school of thought that religion should be introduced into the school’s curriculum, while others oppose this idea. This essay will discuss both views and give a solid conclusion.

Religion is a belief system where people worship a god, God, or deity. There are numerous religions over the world, with the popular ones being Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, just to mention a few. It should be noted that most individuals are born into a religion, and they grow up knowing only the religion they were born and raised into. If religion is introduced in schools, this will enlighten a child about other religions as well as gain deeper insight into his or her inherited religion. This will help with diversification in religion and also help understand why other religions do what they do. It will help reduce religious crises and bias. For example, some people get brainwashed that if they carry out some inhumane act, they will be rewarded by their god/deity. If religion had been taught in school, such a person would not have fallen for such a blatant lie.

Furthermore, not teaching religion in schools can help harmonize the students because religion is a means of social division. When religion is taught in schools, students become aware of some things about their religion or about other religions, which may cause friction and disunity among them. Also, atheists exist, and it is `said that they have no religion, and if religion is incorporated into the school system, this would mean infringing on their rights. For example, someone can playfully say inappropriate things about another religion, and the other fellow may not see it as a joke; this can lead to a fight, and sometimes it escalates into a national issue.

In conclusion, since everyone has the liberty to choose and belong to any religion they want and any infringement on another religion results in a social divide, then introducing it in schools should not be encouraged.

Sample 2:- Many Think that Religion Should Be Taught in Schools

Religion has always been around. Mankind believes that having a religion helps to be a better people in society. Although many people argue that religion should be taught in schools because it helps in developing the morals of people, others believe that it should be avoided because it has no educational value. I strongly believe that religion should be taught in schools because it improves the knowledge of children.

Foremost, people believe that religion should be taught in schools because it helps in developing morals. Having a strong moral value would prevent a lot of people from breaking the laws placed in society. Religion enables people to have affection toward others. For example, in Christianity, it makes us live the way Christ lived, and it has ten commandments that admonish every Christian to follow. Once this is followed, society strives more.

On the other hand, why religion should be avoided can be due to no educational value. Presently, parents enroll their children in the best schools based on the performance of qualifying exams, which can be used to gain admission into universities to pursue one’s career. For instance, the study of Buddhism may have no impact on the career choices of people who want to be an engineer; therefore, it should not be taught in institutions.

In my opinion, I believe that religion should be studied to improve people’s knowledge. An individual from a Christian background can opt to study Islam; this could improve the way the person interacts with other people when he changes his location to a dominantly Muslim area. For example, people who tend to have multiple studies of different religious backgrounds also improve their knowledge of the way and lifestyles of different backgrounds.

In conclusion, people who say that religion should be taught in learning areas say that it helps in improving moral standards, while others who oppose this say that it has no educational value. In my opinion, I believe that religion should be studied in schools because it improves the knowledge of children.
