On a Recent Holiday You Lost a Valuable Item: GT Writing 1

On a recent holiday, you lost a valuable item. Fortunately, you have travel insurance to cover the cost of anything lost. Write a letter to the manager of your insurance company. In your letter, explain.

  • What did you lose?
  • How you lost it?
  • What do you want the insurance company to do?

Dear Sir,

My name is Simon Peter; I am insured with your company under one of your insurance plans. I was on a trip to Dubai recently with my family, and during the vacation, I misplaced my Rolex wristwatch. The wristwatch in question is an eighteen-carat gold chronograph watch, and it was an heirloom.

I lost track of the watch after we boarded a train to one of the tourist sites booked for the vacation. Strapped it on my wrist before leaving the hotel but could not find it on anymore while on the train. I guess it had fallen off while rushing to board the train since it was crowded. I checked if it fell inside the train but did not see it. When we got back to the train station to ask if, by any chance, they saw the watch, they said no and asked me to drop my contact should they find it at a later time.

My insurance covers the misplaced watch; therefore, I am requesting a replacement wristwatch. Though the one I inherited is lost, having the exact type of watch passed down in the family is essential. I will be available to answer any of your questions and concerns regarding this issue. I look forward to getting positive feedback from you soon.

Regards,
