To begin with, some individuals opine that the city’s government should implement more route systems since it will improve accessibility. They claim that building more roads means that they will be able to reach their destination as soon as possible. As a result, not only will it improve productivity, but it will also reduce travel time . Take, for instance, workers going to work at peak hours will be able to get to their working place. If there are various highways and will be able to beat roadway congestion.
However, I believe that there are other measures that can be used in order to curb traffic. Given that the government can invest in public transportation. This implies that there will be efficient, affordable, and reliable public transport systems such as buses, trains, and subways, which will possibly lead to a reduction in the number of vehicles. Moreover, shared transportation accommodates a mass number of passengers. This will result in fewer cars on the road and significantly reduce pressure on the city’s roads. For example, the governing body in my country allocates a certain percentage of public transport , and it has been effective in curbing traffic.
In conclusion, I believe that building roadways cannot curb traffic jams. A mass transit system is needed to solve this issue owing that it will improve public mobility and discourage people from purchasing cars.

However, I partially agree with the given statement, and my inclination is justified in the ensuing paragraphs.
Out of all the arguments, my view is building new roads is helpful in solving environmental issues. This is to say it helps to reduce the air and noise pollution caused by increasing numbers of vehicles. Besides this, it is also true that it saves a lot of precious time for the masses. By this, I mean the construction of elevated or underpass roads reduces the inconvenience caused due to closed railway lines when people commute to their offices.
On the contrary, some people counterclaim the mentioned support. The foremost point they put forward is it creates a financial burden on authorities because building new roads requires a huge amount of budget as well as it directly impacts everyone in the form of increased tax or the number of things needed for day-to-day life. Furthermore, it leads to serious concern about environmental issues like global warming, the melting of glaciers as well as the consumption of fossil fuel increase, and pollutants from vehicles dissolving in the air, causing health concerns like nausea, burning, cardiovascular problems, etcetera.
