To begin with, the majority of water usage in San Diego and California is by the residential, measuring about two third of the total proportion and 39%, respectively. Next to this is the 23% and a third of the water used by industry in San Diego and California. Lastly, agriculture sees less than 20% use of water in San Diego and 28% in California.
However, moving on to the use of water worldwide. Residential use was the lowest, accounting for 8%, followed by 23% use in industry. At the same time, agriculture witnessed a four times higher percentage of water usage than in San Diego.
Overall, it is apparent that residential and industrial use of water is the highest while agricultural use of water is the lowest but has a significant use worldwide.
