The streets where you live has recently become dirty. Write a letter to your local council about the problem:

Sample answer:

Dear Sir/Madam,

1. What caused this problem?
I am writing this letter to draw your attention to a problem which is being encountered by the Bombay Heights locality residents lately. After the heavy rains last week the streets have been flooded and lots of garbage is pending to be disposed of.
2. What problems are faced by local people?
To explain in detail, due to the recent hit of cyclone amphan there was a heavy downpour for three consecutive days leading to a waste accumulation all over the streets due to which the local members residing there including me have been facing a lot of problems such as firstly, owing to the wet trash there have been insects as well street dogs around the community since 3 days. Secondly, there may be a chance of communicable spread of infection in case the waste is not taken on time as they are many kids and infants in our neighborhood. Thirdly, the stinking smell coming from these littered roads is not allowing us to perform our daily activities on a smooth run.
3. What actions the council should take?
It would be very beneficial if you could take immediate action by sending the municipality van to clean the area thoroughly. Although we have already contacted the Municipality regarding this issue there has been no retort as of date hence we request you to take swift action and attend to our needs on an urgent basis.
Hoping for a positive response.
yours sincerely,
Kapil Arora

Most employers do job interviews before offering a position to a person. Do you think this is the best way to do it or are there better alternatives? What is the best method of choosing employees in your opinion?

Sample answer:

INTRODUCTION:

Recruitment of new employees can be a long and painful process. The success of any business or organization depends upon the quality of its staff. Some employees like to conduct interviews to choose new workers. I believe that there are various other approaches. This essay intends to analyze other methods of hiring new employees.

PARAGRAPH 1:

Undoubtedly, an interview is an important method to select a candidate. If the selection has to be done merely on the basis of an interview, it should be well executed. It requires information on organizational needs and a careful grasp on the prospective employees response. This is not an easy task. If the recruitment is to be done on a small scale, and only a few employees are required then this method can prove fruitful otherwise other methods of hiring should be taken
into account.
<h5><span style="color: #ff0000;">PARAGRAPH 2:</span></h5>
There are many other methods which can be employed in hiring new personnel. These methods involve a series of step by step test procedures. Initially, job vacancies are advertised and the recruiters select the resumes which meet the basic requirements for that particular position. A written test of the candidates is conducted to check their knowledge. This is followed by group discussions to check the skill set of these individuals. The shortlisted candidates are then interviewed. The background check and the reference check of these shortlisted candidates are done. It is important to check the credit and the criminal record. A reference check is done to ensure the authenticity of whatever
s mentioned in the resume. The selected candidates are then sent for a health checkup.

CONCLUSION:

Analyzing from the above-mentioned methods, it can be seen that no single method is perfect. Each job has its own requirements. Some jobs require qualifications, while others require experience.

In conclusion, it can be said that no single method is perfect for the selection of employees, it should be a combination of written tests, group discussions, background checks, and interviews.
