Evaluation of proficiency in the English language

IELTS Examiners need to be on par with an IELTS Band 9, which is referred to as a “Expert User” on the band scales. possesses a completely functional command of the language, which is suitable, accurate, fluent, and understanding-based. To be able to examine properly, this is a must for all examiners, and they can be identified at any time as those who need to take the IELTS test.

To prove your equivalent to Band 9, you might need to take the entire IELTS exam, depending on how well you did on your application, at the interview, or during the training session. Not until the IELTS test results are publicized can the recruitment process proceed. In order to be eligible to take the IELTS exam, all applicants must register for the Academic module and pay the entire testing cost.

An Examiner Trainer makes the decision to accept or reject application materials. Application materials are evaluated in relation to the minimal standards of professionalism. Applications that don’t fit the minimal standards won’t be approved.

  4. Interview

Those whose applications are accepted are invited to participate in an interview. The interview can be conducted over the phone or in person at the IELTS location. The interview panel decides which candidates make the shortlist. Only those who make it through the interview process will be invited to proceed with the hiring process.

  5. Induction

After an interview, candidates who make the shortlist must finish an induction before beginning training. The purpose of the induction is to provide candidates with an overview of the IELTS examination process and to specify requirements unique to each centre. There is an induction at the IELTS centre. For applicants who live far away, self-access induction outside of the centre is only offered under special conditions.

The Examiner’s certification serves as a means of evaluating their comprehension and application of the marking criteria. Individual evaluations of speaking exams and writing scripts are completed by applicants and submitted to the British Council for review. Certification will happen either right after the training program or two weeks later at a different time. The IELTS centre hosts certification exams under closely monitored circumstances. An applicant does not become a certified IELTS Examiner until the centre is told that the certification was successful. Within two months of the date of certification, the Examiner is required to administer their first test.
